Food Security, Livelihood and Economic Recovery

Food Security, Livelihood, and Economic Recovery programs are essential for strengthening the resilience and self-reliance of vulnerable communities affected by poverty, conflict, or climate-related shocks. These programs aim to ensure sustained access to nutritious food, rebuild income-generating opportunities, and restore local economies.

ADRT Consulting designs and implements robust Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) frameworks for Food Security, Livelihood, and Economic Recovery programs across humanitarian and development contexts. Our MEAL strategies are tailored to help organizations generate credible evidence, track progress, assess impact, and support adaptive management for greater resilience and sustainability.

FSL

We conduct comprehensive Food Security, and Livelihood Needs Assessments as well as Integrated Socio-Economic and Livelihood Assessments (ISLA) using household surveys. These assessments help identify:

  • Household vulnerability and food insecurity
  • Socio-economic conditions
  • Livelihood activities, access to markets, and resilience capacities of individuals and communities

Our services also include:

  • Baseline, midline, and endline surveys to measure changes over time
  • Mid-term and final evaluations of FSL and economic recovery projects

Measurement of key FSL indicators, such as:

  • Food Consumption Score (FCS)
  • Household Dietary Diversity Score (HDDS)
  • Coping Strategies Index (CSI)
  • Household income levels and economic coping capacity

ADRT’s evaluations provide critical insights into the effectiveness, relevance, and long-term impact of interventions on the livelihoods of vulnerable populations. We employ mixed-method approaches, digital data collection, and participatory techniques to ensure inclusive, accurate, and actionable results.
